A Brief Introduction of Our Major Dance Instructors

 

Paulina(SH)

Founder of CAC, Paulina started Ballet at 6 and is one of the country¡¯s first certified Jazz instructors. Her superbly fascinating dancing glamour has been widely covered by both local and foreign showbiz programs.

 


Alan£¨SH£©


A local Shanghainese, Alan has been a Salsa dancer and professional instructor for more than 8 years. Having learnt Salsa from world-renowned instructors of Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and USA, Alan is very familiar with various Salsa styles. Classes are taught bilingually in a relaxing and playful manner.



Chris (Korea)


Extinguished dancer from Korea, Chris has been dancing since young. His talent is widely recognized in the Asian Dance Troupe arena. His passionate and enthusiastic dance style is pleasing to eyes and fantastic to mind. His expertise includes Jazz, Salsa mambo, girl¡¯s hip-hop and folklore dances.



Tidian (France)


Coming from France, Tidian is a professional Salsa instructor and performer, familiar with Salsa dance of various styles. His teaching involves irresistible enthusiasm.



Simon(HK)


Coming from Hong Kong, Simon is one of the most active Salsa promoters in the Chinese scene.  He has combined all his past learning and teaching experience to create a full set of easy-to-learn salsa study methodology. Either Cuban or American style, Simon will be able to lead you into salsa dance within a short time frame, exploring and exploiting your innermost dance talent.



Anson(SH)


Crowned as the Prince of Jazz, Anson topped in many dance competitions like the All Asian MTV Dance Competition. Choreographer for many big recording companies like Warner Music and Universal Music. He has also been involved in the preparation, choreography and participation in many concert performances of famous stars like Andy Lau, Liu Ruo Ying, Jay Chou and Jolin.



Chen Yu Ting (SH)


Yu Ting began learning Latin dance at the early age of 6. Since then she has accumulated 10 years of dancing experience that has made her one of the best qualified Latin Instructors in Shanghai.



He Xie (SH)


He began learning the Art of Latin Dance at the age of 8. He excels in all forms of Latin Dance and has been acting as a dance tutor for those showbiz stars who take part in the most popular TV dance competition. With Chen Yu Ting as his partner, he is the champion for age 16 at the Shanghai City Inter-Professional Institute Championship. Both came in 2nd place during the Shanghai City Games for the under 17 category.

 


Ding Lei(SH)

 

Ding has been professionally teaching Latin Dance for 10 years. His past achievements include obtaining the 1st place in the Newcomer Category at the 16th Shanghai International Ballroom Dance Competition and the 2nd place in the Professional Category of the China-Japan Friendship Latin Dance Competition.

Latin Dance
The Latin Dance includes dances like Samba, Rumba, Flamenco, Cha-Cha and Jive. A partner dance and with distinct characteristic, there is bound to be a dance form suitable for anyone.


Belly Dance
An ancient and mystical dance originated from the Middle East. Belly dance glorifies the feminine charm with the abdomen and hip movements. Dance can be both intense with passion and yet full of graceful elegance. With the focus to gain strength and flexibility in the abdomen, belly dance is said to be one of the quickest ways to achieve firmness and reduction of the paunch.


Street Dance (Hip Hop)
Hip-hop is currently the most popular form of street dance. Derived from the spontaneous dance movements of the street dancers, the dance encourages the performers to use their bodies in ways to help the execution of many various stylistic techniques.



Tap Dance
With its origins from Broadway USA, Tap Dance is a dance form derived from various traditional folk dances from Northern England, Ireland, Scotland and Africa. This lively and rhythmic performance is sounded through the collaboration between metal plated shoes, precise rhythmical patterns of foot movement and audible foot tapping.


Modern Dance
Originated in Germany and flourished in America. The Modern dance emphasizes on self-expression and creation objecting to all forms of imitations. It is a style of theatrical dance that rejects the limitations of Classical Ballet and favors movement deriving from the expression of the inner feelings of its performer.


Ballet Jazz
Ballet Jazz is uniquely characterized by its fusion between Jazz and Ballet. By injecting the lively and explosive energy of Jazz into the elegant movement of Classical Ballet, its audience is treated to a fresh new visual experience.


Salsa
Salsa, the hot and sexy Latin dance, is currently the most popular club/social dance in both Beijing and Shanghai. As a partner dance, its performance is largely dependent upon the unison bonding between partners, the hotter it is, the better!


Yoga
YOGA allows one to perform beyond one perceived age through breathing regulation and physical coordination. In another word, YOGA combines physical exercises, mental meditation and breathing techniques to strengthen the muscles and relieve stress. It is believed that the increase in mind/body awareness can influence one¡¯s mood and self-esteem in a positive manner which improves the quality of life.
